Mr. Don Kuntz, Assistant Principal
Where is he now? Unsure.
Who could forget Mr Kuntz? Many times I took spills
down the stairs at Stebbins and other schools in Mad River,
and my senior year, I was called to the principals
office. Standing there was Mr Kuntz, with a key hanging
from his index finger. I said what's that. He
said well Miss Adkins. This is an elevator key.
He lifted his other hand with a paper in it, he said
this is a hall pass. You are to leave class 5
minutes early, and use the elevator this year, because
I am NOT carrying you down steps this year if you fall.
I laugh now when I think of that story.

Mrs. Cooper, Math
Where is he now? Still at Stebbins.
Mrs Cooper, always had a nice word for everyone, and smile.
She taught her students with care. If you did not
understand a math problem, she would sit with you , until you did.
After I graduated High School, I would visit Stebbins often.
Always saying hello to Mrs Cooper, and she always asked how I was.

Mrs. Dee Hastler, Athletic Director & Gym
Where is he now? Still at Stebbins and hoping to retire soon.
Many of you remember the time I fell on the track at school,
I still have the stones in my knee as proof. Anyway,
that time I fell, Mrs Haslter took me into the girls locker room
and put some of that red spray on my knee. I swore and quickly
covered my mouth as I thought I would really get in trouble then.
She said swear all you want, we need to disinfect this.
Was probably only time I ever swore in front of a teacher in my life.

retire this year, 2007/2008.
Now a personal friend to me and my family, and she is hoping to retire

Mr. Rick Sharp, Social Studies
Where is he now? Unsure.
I remember Mr Sharp for being an avid Ohio State fan, and not
recognizing Michigan, he called it the "The State up North".
He also flipped his tie over his shoulder alot as a
funny give away that we were to relax in his class. He was
really funny, and I also had him as a teacher at Mad River
Middle School. Then called Mad River Jr. High.

Retired a year or so ago, but was the man who gave me my
wrestling name of Eva Destruction I am now called Eva D by
people who knew me in the wrestling business and the name has
been used by 2 other girls since I left the business in 1991,
and was copyrighted by some promoter, but we know I was the
original. He was that type of teacher, he would back
you up in your dreams and not make some discouraging comment about it.

Mr. Jerry Miller, Government/Student Senate
Where is he now? Unsure, but he did retire from Stebbins.
Mr Young, Interesting man. Hard teacher, also was head of the
student senate. I just remember that crazy hair style he
had. What was with that? I remember I had him for
2nd period, and we were kind of a crazy bunch. Not naming any
names but a student (not me!) fell asleep and Mr Young picked
up the garbage can and threw it to the back of the class; to say
the least we all jumped and he said "NO sleeping in my class,
I am not that boring!" we all sort of snickered. He was not
amused as I can recall.

Mrs. Bo Clouser, Main office Secretary
Where is he now? Still at Stebbins and hoping to retire soon.
She was always there to help us all, she always had a smile and a
friendly face. I know those of us who took clerical , would
remember Mrs Clouser. She is Donnie's mom and Donnie too is part
of our class.

-
Mr Ron Young, OWA
Where is he now? Unsure.
Was the guy who got most of us working while in school. Funny guy,
had a huge heart. Had some awesome times, we went bowling to help
us with our math skills, I think I bowled an 80 haha.. we had loads
of fun, was only 8 in that class at the time. Those were the days!

Mr. Bonza, Councilor

I remember Mr Bonza helping me out a lot. Always there with his

Really nice fella.

Mr. Watson, Social Studies/History
Where is he now? Still at Stebbins.
Mr Watson lead the L.I.F.T. program for students who were alcohal/drug
dependent or had parents who were alcohal/drug dependent. It was
a group of people who would come together during 1 period a week, and
talk about their difficulties. Mr Watson was my social studies
teacher in Mad River Middle, and followed me to Stebbins and later
became a counciler. He was awesome.

Mr. Eviston, Saturday school
Where is he now? Retired and working within Troy City Schools now.
I remember his barber shop style mustache and handwriting that I had always
wished he would teach. He was fun to have as a teacher,
but Saturday school was not fun.

Ms. Joyce Whiteman
Where is he now? Unsure.
She took a lot of time to get to know. She made everyone in the class cry
at least once. I later realized she represented the difficult bosses
we would encounter in our jobs. She was actually a good friend and
would have fought for any of us at any time. She wanted us to be
strong, and not quit or give up, even if it meant appearing to be the
wicked witch of the midwest!

Mrs. Marlea Jordan, Assistant Principal
Where is he now? Now an administrator with Dayton Public Schools.
Has married, new name Marlea Jordan-Gaskins. She was tough, but
fair and was only with us a short time after we had Ms. Frye. Today,
like yesterday, she is a task master and is in charge of Employee Development.

Mr. Blackburn, Assistant Principal
Where is he now? Unsure.
He always gave me the impression of being Amish. He taught Biology and
had a soft spoken voice. He was also the lead of Stebbins Bible Study
group, a group you would not have found in any other high school in America.
I have always believed this group to have been special.
